STUDIO

Peter Litzau Studio develops sculptural objects and image-based works that explore relationships between material, perception, and place.

Across objects, editions, and site-responsive projects, the practice engages how form and image are experienced within space—how they hold presence, structure attention, and connect people to environments.

The work begins with material—wood, light, surface, and transparency—treated not as decoration, but as a primary element of composition. Grain, density, variation, and layered image planes are used to construct form and perception simultaneously.

Forms are reduced to essential gestures. Mass is balanced against openness, solidity against lightness, clarity against depth. Each work is developed to hold presence without excess.

Objects are produced in Costa Rica using FSC® chain-of-custody tropical hardwood and small-batch methods. Editions, fabricated in Switzerland, and site-responsive projects extend this approach into image, architecture, and public space.

The studio operates across residential, hospitality, exhibition, and urban contexts.
